#15 Authentic "diversities experienced human resources" is more important than "simple and superficial diverse human resources"?
A wealth of diversities experience will drive the progress of our world
Diversity as booming
In this diversity and inclusion (D&I) era, what kind of people to hire and work with and what kind of team to create is a major issue for any leaders and organizations worldwide.
Especially in country where there are many people who are homogenous, speak the same language, and share similar values and ways of thinking, the term “diversity” does not always make sense and can’t be correctly understood well.
Even if their company puts the D&I up high in their organizational vision, many people of them inside may find themselves in trouble when it comes to recruiting somebody for their own teams based on it.
Diversity is important, and global transactions have increased, but hiring Americans, French, and Chinese etc does not mean that the organization will become global and diversity. What organizations would rather experience on that is conflict and chaos in values and ways of thinking.
Increasing the number of human resources in the organization who have grown up in a variety of values and ways of thinking and who understand each different aspect will rather be an important step towards creating an organization with actual diversity. In other words, instead of just "recruiting simple and superficial diverse(ex. just as nationality, gender, etc) human resources," "recruiting diversities experienced human resources" can be the foundation for creating a authentic diversified organization.
Increasing the number of human resources in the organization who have grown up in a variety of values and ways of thinking and who understand each different aspect will rather be an important step towards creating an organization with actual diversity
Diversities experienced human resources
This is true regardless of size of the organization.
People who have experienced several countries and continents and understand more different values and ways of thinking can be good advisors and mediators both in and outside of an organization.
Even in discussions between people having each different owned specific values, their sense being able to understand the feelings of both different sides and organize the issues between them is extremely valuable.
As the number of such personnel increases in the organization, the second step will be come to bring more diverse personnel with different backgrounds and nationalities etc into the organization. Of course, it is not just about nationality and gender etc.
People who have experienced several countries and continents and understand more different values and ways of thinking can be good advisors and mediators both in and outside of an organization
For example, people who have experienced childcare and nursing care are usually more tolerant of diversity and have a broader range of accepted values.
Teams with people in their 20s and 50s who have worked with people of diverse ages are more likely to fare better than teams that are just pure mixes of 20s and 50s.
It is important for the leader and the organization that how many people with a wide range of values can be included in their organization, even though they are completely different experienced people.
For instance, one of my business partners working in biggest leading company as part of their executive leadership position is originally a Indian who has lived in England, Thailand, and Australia, and he is now in Singapore, working with various type of different background and experienced people. Having experienced so many different countries and cultures etc, he has the ability to accept most values and form his own way of thinking based on it, which is very persuasive not only in local and national, but also in regional and global. And under and with such person, their colleagues and even their business partner outside feel that it is easy to form a team in which people with strong values can overcome healthy conflicts and work well together.
“Recruitment of and working with actual diversities experienced human resources” is the first step toward creating an authentic diversity and inclusive organization and team.
It is important for the leader and the organization that how many people with a wide range of values can be included in their organization
Company as just one of our options in an open world
In the first place, changes in work styles are progressing rapidly in the world today.
You will be able to more choose what you want to do with your own will, instead of simply doing the assigned work. In the future, routine work that anyone can do will gradually be replaced by AI and robots, and the world will become more a place where people can comfortably perform work which only humans can do. Instead of relying on the company you work for, you will be asked to accept the job by the company.
Until now, I think that there was a lot of sense that work was done by the company's instructions. It is an image of doing the work imposed to get a salary.
People will no longer devote their entire lives to one company, and they won’t even live their lives under the brand of a large company.
the world will become more a place where people can comfortably perform work which only humans can do
The style of work is also changing.
Instead of working silently at a desk by yourself, you will be able to work in teams with people from all over the world regardless of where you work. Remote work will become more the norm, and working styles that do not require going to the office will become commonplace, making it possible to work wherever you live.
Under such circumstances, the competitiveness and necessity of human resources who truly understand and experience the diversity of the earth and the world will go up.
We understand diverse ways of thinking for each project and each team, encourage creativity that can only be created by humans, and create new things along with each difference.
In the future, superficial talent and company who seem to show diversity just because they have certain nationality or just because they have certain gender etc will become even more underestimated.
There is no doubt that a truly diverse organization and team with a wealth of diversities experience will drive the progress of our world in the future.
